Okay, here it goes, Summer ☀️
hope you sitting down for this one

Summer ☀️
Often, I find myself trying to say things on this, but now I have taken bullet points and thought carefully. Things are happening. But this time, I can fully explain myself. Summer’s here. Summer is a very important time for me. I made a film specifically for June 22nd— a summertime classic.
June 22nd will always have a special place in my heart, and this year I’m working on a few things to keep this era alive, a whole goal and dream being plotted out, but I’ll leave it at that.
Not only one of my favorite films I’ve done but also it’s Kiki’s birthday. One of the greatest producers of all time. Wish her a happy birthday. I’ll be in Florida celebrating it with her.
I signed up for a 48-hour film festival. I’ll be doing that in Providence once I get back.
To further explain how this came happened, Sophia P, an incredible filmmaker btw, recommended me for a screening, and that person who happens to host these screenings is also the producer of the 48 hour film festival, I felt encouraged to participate since this is something that’s been a part of my wishlist for the year. Here’s a picture of that list:

I lied about the short on iPhone idk what happened.
Also, here are some pictures from the screening in Providence:

Lovvvved these stickers

A week after that, I’ll be officially working on my first film, shooting super 16mm, thanks to Javi for letting my brain churn and cranking out these ideas. We have several things coming up together. The guy keeps me sane.

The film is in his fridge, and Javi is taking care of her.
After that happens, I’ll be in New York sometime in July too for the first-ever short I do out there. More details on that next month.
Glasshouse is happening too. Music Videos, documentary work. I don’t want to reveal any more details for the summer, but best believe I’ll share it all out here going forward because I’d like to announce that I’m off the socials for most of the summer.
I want to write a screenplay. I want to focus my attention on the screenplay I've been working on, which I intend to be my first feature film. Lord willing, this will be the one.
I feel like with short films, I’m checking off everything I’ve wanted to do in that format, and it’s time for me to create something longer. I’d prefer to allocate 10k to a feature film rather than a short film now. I want to move on. I want to prove myself as a filmmaker because it’s something I care deeply about, something that motivates me to get out of bed. There are only a few more short films left in me, and after that, all I want to do is commercials and a feature.
I've been taking a lot more care of myself. I’m gonna try and document most of the summer but share it in a format that feels digestible and not as overwhelming or overworking myself to make some content. Consider any vlog material from me to feel like family home videos.
Keeping a promise to myself and this newsletter that I will be taking care of myself this summer. I’ll be spending it with people who care for me as much as I care for them. Following my gut with any creative endeavors, and of course, chasing the bag responsibly as well. Hope you guys have a good summer and enjoy everything I’ve left here. I’ll be back sometime in July.

INDUSTRY NEWS
THE DEATH OF CINEMA??
I’ve been obsessed with Substack as of late. I finally encountered the film section and all the film-related stacks, and this one article in particular stuck out to me like crazy and left me thinking about movie theaters. My love for them and the things that don’t exist anymore that we need back. It’s a three-part series article; there’s a solution presented in part 3, but I’ll leave it at that. Would love to yap about this with people, the stats are insane. We need movie theater culture to go back on certain things, but also reinvent itself.
NOW IN POST PRODUCTION
Dos Golpes!
Me: Hey, so how’s sound mixing going?
Epic Melody Productions:
Matt & Andy have been a blast to work with on this film. Be sure to check them out on Instagram and tell them I sent you guys.
MOVIE SUGGESTION
I can’t stop talking about Materialists.
Whether the film is good or not, I love the discourse. I love the conversations it’s starting about modern dating. I think everyone should go out, see this, and then take that person to eat or sit by the theater bar and just yap endlessly about it. I haven’t stopped thinking about this movie since I saw it, and I think I’m going to see it again sometime soon.
EVENTS
GLASSHOUSE, 48HR Film Fest & SSFF Screening!
Going to be filming this show, should be fun. Been on the road with Glasshouse for a while now, I’ll make a whole piece on it next month with cool pictures from my camera roll, but I promise you you don’t wanna miss them live. They are putting on the best show I have ever been a part of. Pull up!
They will be screening the film we make for the 48 on July 8-9th at the Providence famous Avon Cinema. Come and see what we make.
